New roads are needed when a new housing development is going up. The first step to the whole project is the excavation. The area in which the road is going to be built must be cleared of all vegetation, trees, and shrubs, as well as any major rocks that might obstruct the way. It is also the excavator’s job to put into place those things that would prevent erosion such as ditches and catch basins.
